1. Women's Brunch
Location: Evergreen Valley Church.
Date/Time: Saturday, 12/4/2010 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Call time: 09:30 am.
Attire: All black from head to toe.
Performances By: Jazz Ensemble
2. Barnes and Noble Bookfair and Concert
Location: Barnes & Noble, Almaden and Blossom Hill, San Jose
Date/Time: Sunday, 12/5/2010
Attire: All black from head to toe.
Performances By: Studio Band, Jazz Lab, Jazz Ensemble

Studio Band: Call time: 1:00 pm, Performance: 2:00 pm. Studio Band will be required to setup.

Lab Band: Call time: 2:00 pm, Performance: 3:00 pm

Jazz Ensemble: Call time: 3:15 pm, Performance: 4:00 pm. Ensemble will be required to tear down and load equipment.

Transportation: Parents must transport their own students to and from this event.


* Parents are needed to transport equipment from Valley and back. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can carry instruments either from Valley to B&N or from B&N back to Valley.
3. "Christmas at the California Theatre"
Date/Time: Wednesday, 12/8/2010 from 7 pm to 9 pm.
Attire: All black from head to toe.
Performances By: Studio and Lab Bands

5. Wedding
Location: The San Jose Country Club, 15571 Alum Rock Ave., San Jose, 95127
Date/Time: Saturday, 12/11/10 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm Call Time: 2:30 pm
Performances By: Jazz Ensemble.

6. Corporate Luncheon
Location: National Semiconductor
Date/Time: Friday, 12/17/10
Performances By: Jazz Ensemble

We are in need of at least one dad and approx. 3 additional parents to help chaperone the students during this performance.
We are also in need of parents to help carpool students and transport equipment.

Please respond back with any assistance you can provide (as outlined above).
Please respond back to me as soon as possible to let me know if your student can perform at this event or not. Let me know either way (e.g., yes, my student can perform OR no, my student has other obligations on that date).

The Jazz Club

Our jazz parent support organization is called "The Jazz Club".
Each parent (at least one parent) is asked to volunteer in one of the following areas (see sign-up form):

 

  1. The Jazz Club
    Develop fundraising ideas and creative ways to promote our talented young people.
  2. F.E.E.D.
    Help organize and distribute food at festivals and rehearsals.
  3. Grand Finale
    Basket raffle, refreshments, ticket sales.
  4. Sweatshirt sales
    Coordinate reorders with Cindy and expand potential sales to parents and friends.
  5. Copying
    Photo-copying and scanning music.
  6. Music Library
    Cataloging and filing new music.
  7. Road Rangers
    Assist with set-up and break down at jazz festivals ad concerts, organize/load trailer.
