The 37th Annual Campana Jazz Festival

They did it again at this weekend’s 37th Annual Campana Jazz Festival at Almador Valley High School in Pleasanton

Great job to all the bands.  Your perseverance and hard work paid off.  Congratulations to all the individual award and scholarship winners!

It was an extremely long and tiresome day for some jazz members who had to leave early after their performance in the Campana Jazz Festival to rush to participate in the SF Chinese New Year parade.

Amazing Folsom Jazz Festival Performances

Congratulations to the jazz bands and choir for their amazing performances the the 23rd Annual Folsom Jazz Festival

  • JH Studio Band 1st place in division MS
  • HS Jazz Lab Band 2nd in division B
  • Jazz Ensemble 1st in division A
  • JH Combo 4th in combo B (we were the only JH group in this division)
  • Ensemble 1st in combo A
  • Jazz choir 3rd in division JCA

Overall, of the 3 sweepstakes award, the Valley Christian Jazz groups received 2

  • Jazz Ensemble won the sweepstakes for the High School Bands (AAAA, AAA, A, B, C, D)
  • Jazz Choir won the sweepstakes for the Choral groups (JCAA, JCA, JCB)

Changes in Scheduled Events

Here are some changes in some upcoming scheduled events:

  1. The Jazz Ensemble community outreach on Feb, 12 is CANCELLED.
  2. We will not participate in the Santa Cruz Jazz Festival on Mar 17.
  3. The Jr. High Studio Band will not be particpating in the Reno Jazz Festival.
